The Red Sox will be in Anaheim on Thursday night to begin their series against the Angels in the American League Divisional Series.
The Angels and the Sox are familiar opponents. They have met in October three times in the past five years.
The series will be a challenge, but
WBZ's Dan Roche has three keys he thinks will help Boston move on.
KEY 1: SET THE TABLE
Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia have to get on base and set the table for David Ortiz, Jason Bay, Victor Martinez, Kevin Youkilis and company.
Combined, Ellsbury and Pedroia have 90 bases stolen and 200 runs. Getting on base will be crucial for the team to score runs.
KEY 2: SHUT DOWN L.A.'S OFFENSE
On the other side of things, the Red Sox pitchers need to stop Chone Figgins and Bobby Abreu. Combined, they have 72 stolen bases.
Abreu has been very effective for the team's on-base percentage a skill he brought with him from the Yankees.
If the Sox can do that, they are in good shape.
KEY 3: LESTER AND BECKETT
The final key is Jon Lester and Josh Beckett. The team needs to ride these two as far as they can go, if they are up to standards and healthy.
Roche says Lester and Beckett can lead the Sox to their third World Series in the last six seasons.
The schedule for the Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels will be as follows:
Game One: Thursday Oct. 8, 9:37pm in Anaheim
Game Two: Friday Oct. 9, 9:37pm in Anaheim
Game Three: Sunday Oct. 11, 12:07pm at Fenway
Game Four (if necessary): Monday Oct. 12, 8:37pm at Fenway
Game Five (if necessary): Wednesday Oct. 13, 9:37pm in Anaheim
