Ticket prices for the Red Sox postseason have dropped in price compared to last year.
Data collected by StubHub shows that an infield grandstand ticket for 2007's ALCS Game 1 cost $405 each. One year later, the same ticket is being sold for $284.
For Game 2, the average ticket price has dropped from $458 in 2007 to $260 in 2008.
The most expensive ticket purchased for the ALCS last year was $4,118. The top ticket price for this postseason is currently $2,583 that's a difference of a whopping $1,535.
According to StubHub, the tickets are cheaper for a few reasons. The company says tickets are "not as hot of a commodity as they were last year for the Red Sox run."
StubHub also says a lot of fans are no longer willing to pay big bucks for a ticket to the game. "This can actually fare well for fans, especially if they felt priced out last year because there are many reasonably priced tickets," said Joellen Ferrer of StubHub.
According to Ferrer, there are still over 1,000 tickets for
Tuesday's game, starting in the low $100s.
