Former Patriot Gets Probation After Casino Arrest

NORWICH, Conn. (WBZ) ― Former New England Patriots safety Tebucky Jones has been granted probation on charges stemming from a fight at a Connecticut casino.

Jones, 34, of Farmington, appeared Friday in Norwich Superior Court.

He was charged in August with assault, breach of peace and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police said he had "inappropriate contact" with a woman in the Mohegan Sun casino lobby, then punched her boyfriend in the ensuing dispute.

Prosecutors dropped the sexual assault charge Friday.

If Jones successfully completes one year of probation, the other two charges also will be dropped.

Jones' lawyer told the Hartford Courant Jones was "very happy" with the outcome.

Jones, a New Britain High School and Syracuse standout, played for New England, New Orleans and Miami.

The Patriots released him in February 2007.
