Romance

(WBZ) Today's show is about romance. We begin by talking with three men who are searching for it.

THE BACHELORS
29 year old Michael Anastasia, an actor and teacher,

33 year old Dante Denagistris, a chef and owner of a restaurant. And 34 year old Paul Burton, an ordained minister and reporter here at WBZ TV.

These young men are among the most attractive and eligible bachelors in town. Each has his own story about romance and love.

Paul Burton's story begins with a tragedy. Dante Denagistris is a little shy, but sure of what he's looking for. And Improv actor Michael Anastasia needs a woman who can fit his schedule.

The Search for Canasta 404
MAUREEN DUNN describes a whirlwind romance with her husband Joe. Not long after they married, Joe joined the Navy and volunteered for Vietnam. Eleven days into his first tour of duty, Joe Dunn's plane was shot down and he was subsequently listed as MISSING IN ACTION. Maureen is the forerunner of the MIA recognition movement.

JUST THINKING  - RELATIONSHIPS
Here's something for my next MI'm writing a letter to the next Mnextner. Right. There isn't one yet, but just in case… Next time I plan to work a little harder at love. Meeting the first Mr. Right was all about magnetism, you know, that dizzying feeling that energizes you. We call it chemistry because it's like taking a stimulant.. While it signals a strong physical attraction, it's not necessarily love. I think there's a lot of confusion these days over the work that's required for love. In the end I spent more energy on my divorce than I did the marriage. Whether you meet on line, in a bar or at church, attraction is the easy part. The bigger challenge is putting in the time necessary to get to know another person, to see if there's the possibility or even create something more, something I call a spiritual affinity. It requires repeated contact, conversations, a give and take,…and commitment to the process. In the end, the spirit part is what can create a sense of calm that reduces anxiety and leads to a lasting bond. I am by no means an expert on relationships, but the way I look at it ….it's not as much about the power of the magnet,…as it is about the strength of the glue..
