(WBZ) Today we focus on celebrity. The Boston area has become a hub for Hollywood stars and celebrities and today we're going to find out why.

We begin with a visit to the campus of Harvard a big star in Denzel Washington's newest film THE GREAT DEBATERS The film, about a small Black college debating team that ends up competing against Harvard, made its Boston debut at Harvard.

Denzel and Dr. Allen Counter
We went to the premiere with Denzel and talked with the Harvard Foundations' Dr. Allen Counter the science professor who is responsible for bringing the film and its star Denzel Washington on campus to charity's benefit.

The Movie Stars are Coming, The Movie Stars are Coming
You hear it all over the town. The Hub is going Hollywood. Cameron Diaz, Meg Ryan, Jack Nicholson. If you know where to look around town, chances are you can run into somebody famous Nick Paleologos. the Executive Director of the Massachussetts Film Office knows who is headed our way.

My Favorite Celebrity Interview
Liz will admit it. When we talked about her favorite celebrity interview, everyone in the Sunday office picked the same one. Not because she asked the most insightful questions about Dennis Haysbert's career. It was when Liz got a little personal things got interesting.

Just Thinking
A friend and I traveled up to Nashua the other day to take in some of the sights and sounds of the granite states primary season where the grand and often distasteful scheme of American politics is condensed into something a lot more palatable.

Our volunteer assignment; canvassing in a few pre-selected neighborhoods. Armed with voter lists, talking points, and a surprisingly fresh sense of purpose, we headed out into the first in the nation marketplace of retail politics.

Carefully making our way down unknown roads, up icy driveways and past the dogs, the ducks and even a goat, we knocked on doors and struck up conversations with a few of the fiercely courted, highly prized undecided voters..

Whether they were rooting somewhere in the cloud of republican witnesses or gathered at the democrats altar of change everyone had something to say as if it mattered....

and indeed it does. The New Hampshire primary is not without celebrity and spectacle. But for me, a day that started out as an adventure ended up a privilege, participating in a process that can move us past indifference and cynicism to a crossroads where the search for leadership, vision, even human greatness is taken,…. one step and one conversation at a time.
