Needs
(WBZ)
Today we have information for you ranging from how to pay for your kids' college education,
to how to get a good fit in a bra. We're calling this Sunday's show needs.
BRIAN RAFANELLI
We begin with one of the most pleasant and potentially frustrating needs we all face at one time or another, how to throw a good party.
If you're looking for ideas the man to ask in Boston is one of the biggest names in parties, corporate functions and fundraisers, Bryan Rafanelli.
FOUNDATIONS AT LADY GRACE Regardless of age or shape, every woman at one time or another has had trouble finding a good fitting bra. That's why Lady Grace Intimate Apparel is one of the most popular stores around. If your needs are foundational, Lady Grace is the place to go.
Bread has always been a basic need. The trade of the baker, is one of the oldest crafts in the world.
Since then, baking bread has become an art form, with exotic varieties and specialty shapes and sizes that make a trip to the bakery, more like a trip to the candy store. We visited three local establishments--all with a different take on bread.
COLLEGE FINANCES
If you have a high school student in your family, you no doubt already know it's never too early to think about college. Getting into college is becoming more difficult every day, not just because of the staggering costs. Grab a paper and pencil, we have some information you need to know about college.
JUST THINKING More than 40 years ago, a well known psychologist, Abraham Maslow, developed what has been called "the hierarchy of needs." a list defining what humans require most. It begins with. oxygen, food, water. followed by our needs for safety and security , to belong,
.how we are valued and our sense of purpose,
Maslow's list raises an interesting question? If we have all those needs met, are we complete?
it is part of human nature to search for something more
for that which transcends the the material. we all have spiritual needs.
.whether you define spirit as the depths of your inner being or the breadth of some grand outside force
there are many exercises that help you become more spiritually aware
nature walks, prayer.
I try waking up every morning being thankful
about
everything. I'm thankful that I woke up. That's not a given you know. The work is in trying to keep that outlook all day
no matter what., I call it developing an attitude of gratitude
a way of looking at the world and life with an openness and receptivity to all that is good and unearned. it is one of the first steps in learning the most meaningful definitions of grace.
Sunday is proud to present from the Berkley College of Music, Donna McElRoy and Jeffrey Ramsey.
