Experts Analyze Virgin Mary Window Image

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (CBS) ― Hundreds of people have been flocking to a hospital in Springfield this week, drawn by what many believe is an image of the Virgin Mary in a window.

On Friday, Mercy Medical Center hired two experts – an engineer and a restoration professional – to take a look at the window.

They said there appears to be some sort of deposit between the panes of glass.

They said they think there's likely a scientific explanation for how it got there.

Hundreds of people, some weeping, have come to the Mercy Medical Center to view and photograph the window since the image was first noticed in a vacant, second-story office Tuesday.
