Minnesota Mooing Cow Upsets Neighbors
HUGO, Minn. (CBS) ―
Meet Walleye. He's a 2-year-old jersey steer. And right now, he's stirring up quite a controversy that is headed to court.
According to Walleye's owner, Karyl Hylle, her brown bundle of joy is just like any other cow. He eats grass, walks around the pasture and moos.
But it's that moo that's getting Walleye and Hylle in trouble. Neighbors say as soon as the sun goes down, Walleye starts mooing and doesn't stop till the sun comes up. Some neighbors claim his mooing has kept them up all night for the past seven months. And they can't take it anymore.
So they called the police department. And when officers showed up they ticketed Hylle and her cow for excessive mooing.
When that didn't stop the mooing, they decided to ask the county prosecutor to force Hylle to move the cow's pen. That issue is still being decided. So for now, Walleye will stay put while his owner heads back to court and their neighbors try to get a good night's sleep.
