Baby Flamingoes Hatch At Franklin Park Zoo

BOSTON (WBZ) ― The Franklin Park Zoo has just welcomed their first family of baby flamingos.

The chicks were born on July 25. The birds are Chilean flamingos and their births represent the first flamingo species to ever hatch in Franklin Park Zoo's nearly 100-year history.

The flamingo babies, who are native to South America, will grow to be about 4 to 5 feet tall.

Flamingos at the zoo are not named. Instead, they are known by an identification number.
