Misspelled Highway Sign Taken Down

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Many drivers say the road signs in Massachusetts can be confusing.

It doesn't help when they are misspelled.

A sign put up last week heading north near the Braintree split read "Eterning Braintree" instead of "Entering Braintree."

A Patriot Ledger reporter asked the state Highway Department about it and the sign was removed Tuesday.

The state had hired a contractor, Liddell Brothers Inc., of Norwell, to put up the sign. Liddell told the paper it was not aware of the mistake.
