Cops: Man Stabbed Self To Get Out Of Work

Colo. Blockbuster Employee Falsely Claimed Assault By 3 Men

EDGEWATER, Colo. (CBS) ― A reported stabbing in Edgewater Monday night turned out to be a hoax. Police say the alleged victim just wanted a night off.

Police were called out to a Blockbuster video store at 19th and Sheridan. They found an employee with stab wounds who told them he was attacked by three robbers. After being interviewed the man confessed he actually stabbed himself.

The man said he stabbed himself because he didn't want to go to work.

He now faces charges of false reporting.
