Florida PD Interested In Adopting BPD Horses

Boston police are trying to find homes for their horses after the Mounted Unit was disbanded.

Two of the Boston Police Department's horses may be headed south to Florida.
Since the
Boston police Mounted Unit has been disbanded because of budget cuts, the department has been trying to adopt out its 13 horses.
The St. Petersburg Police Department is interested in adopting two horses from Boston's Mounted Unit.
But the adoptions aren't a done deal.
There is an effort in Boston to raise money to save the mounted police patrols.
Officers have set up a hotline for those interested in adopting the Mounted Unit horses. The hotline's number is 617-343-4692.
There are 13 horses that are part of the Mounted Unit.
