This Saint Bernard may be the key to solving the mysterious disappearance of a man in Hingham.

Police hope a microchip implanted in a Saint Bernard will help them track down a missing man in Hingham.
Search teams were called in Wednesday when workers found the dog wandering around without its owner. They searched Accord Pond after the dog was found sitting down in a spot in front of the water whimpering.
"He kind of wanted to go toward the water and got to the edge and laid down," said Hingham police Lt. Michael Periano.
The unidentified man, who is possibly in his 70s, was seen walking into the woods near the pond with his dog, but the St. Bernard was the only one to come out of the woods.
Neighbors say the man had gray hair and typically walks his dog in that area.
Boats and dive teams searched the water. Crews also searched the nearby woods to no avail.
While the dog has no tags, it does have a microchip, which showed that he was purchased from Quality Pet Supply in West Roxbury. That pet store has since been closed down.
For now, the search for the man has been called off until more information is made available.
Police also hope someone may recognize the dog.
"We are not talking about a golden retriever. It's a Saint Bernard, which is rare, and somebody may recognize the dog or know the owner and give us a call," Periano said.
Animal Control officers have named the dog Beethoven. They believe he is 5 to 9 years old.
"He's always looking out doors and windows," said animal control officer Lesley Bager. "He's been crying a lot."
Police say if the owner is not found, more than 10 people have come forward to take care of the dog.
Anyone with information about the identity of the dog's owner is asked to contact Hingham police.
