Woman Hits, Kills Moose On Route 3

According to state police, Loretta Willett, 59, of Woburn hit the moose right before exit 27 in Billerica around 1 a.m.

A woman driving on Route 3 South early Sunday morning hit and killed a moose standing in the highway.
According to state police, Loretta Willett, 59, of Woburn hit the moose right before exit 27 in Billerica around 1 a.m.
Willett sustained minor injuries, police said. She was taken to Lahey Clinic for evaluation.
The moose she hit did not make it.
Route 3 South was closed for 10 minutes. One lane was closed for an hour while crews removed the moose remains.
