'Tim and Billy' were found in an industrial park Monday.
Norfolk Police Dept.
They are friendly-- curious-- and at the center of a mystery. Two goats turned up early Monday morning in an industrial park in Norfolk.
Asked how they looked, Norfolk Animal Control Officer Hilary Cohen said, "Scared. They were stationary, not moving, and they did not know where they were."
She said it appears someone abandoned them, which is criminal. A $300 reward is being offered for information.
Said Cohen, "We're motivated, and hopefully trying to find who put the animals there. It's illegal and it's a felony to dump your animals and this is a way of telling people, give us your animals if you can't take care of them rather than dumping them out."
A veterinarian examined the goats on Wednesday, proclaiming them a little thin but otherwise healthy. Cohen says they are social and appear to have been well cared for at one point.
In the meantime, they're being kept in a private barn, and will be put up for adoption when the time is right.
