Pets Need To Keep Cool Too
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
This weather has a lot of people looking for places to keep cool, but it is important to remember that pets need relief from the heat too.
Never leave your pets in a parked car. Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise to dangerous levels in a very short time. On an 85 degree day, temperatures inside a car can shoot up to over 100 degrees in a matter of minutes, according to the Humane Society. After 30 minutes, temperatures can soar to 120 degrees.
When your pet goes outside, it is important to make sure there is a place for them to sit in the shade. They should also have access to plenty of cool water. Pets can get heat stroke too and it can be fatal.
