A local animal hospital is looking for help to cover the costs of life-saving surgery for a tiny blind, abandoned dog.
Jonah, an-eight-month-old Chihuahua, was found abandoned in September at the bottle recycling center of the Stop & Shop in Jamaica Plain.
A good Samaritan brought the puppy to the MSPCA adoption center, where they noticed he wasn't behaving normally.
"His head was severely deformed, he had difficulty walking and concerns grew regarding to what extent he could see," MSPCA-Boston ACAC manager, Meagan Rock said in a statement.

Dr. Andrew Farabaugh, the staff neurologist at Angell Animal Medical Center said Jonah is suffering from a severe case of hydrocephalus, also known as "water on the brain."
"Fluid has accumulated inside his brain and the high pressure from this has compressed his brain into a thin shell," Dr. Farabaugh said.
They plan to place a shunt to drain the excess fluid into Jonah's abdominal cavity, where it will be absorbed by his body.
"The surgery is technically challenging and has a small mortality rate and other complications, but without surgery, Jonah will die," Farbaugh said.
"If the surgery is successful, Jonah should improve and be able to enjoy a good quality of life although he will likely remain blind."
Angell estimates the MRI, surgery and follow-up care will cost at least $2,500.
