A little dog found at a local supermarket underwent brain surgery on Thursday at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston.
Jonah, an-eight-month-old Chihuahua, was found abandoned in September at the bottle recycling center of the Stop & Shop in Jamaica Plain.
A Good Samaritan brought the puppy to the MSPCA adoption center, where they noticed he wasn't behaving normally.
Dr. Andrew Farabaugh, the staff neurologist at Angell Animal Medical Center, said Jonah is suffering from a severe case of hydrocephalus, also known as "water on the brain."

Thursday's surgery drained excess fluid into Jonah's abdominal cavity, where it will be absorbed by his body.
Jonah will be monitored at Angell around the clock as he recovers.
