"I couldn't beleive it, my heart just dropped," says Janet Torren.
That was September 18, the day her Yorkie named Chai disappearred in Stoughton. Torren called the town's animal control officer, Kristen Bousquet, but apparently Bousquet hadn't seen the dog.
But days later, when she still hadn't found Chai, Torren called the company that monitors the electronic chip in Chai's ear. And Torren was stunned.
"They told me the chip had been scanned on the day Chai disappeared...and I asked who scanned it, and they said the Stoughton Animal Control officer."
So Torren called Kristin Bousquet with the information, and confronted the officer, saying,"if you don't hand over my dog in thirty minutes, I'm filing criminal charges. And she called me back in fifteen minutes, and said she found my dog."
As it turns out, Chai had been given to a friend of Bousquet's, according to Torren.
Now the town is investigating the whole incident, and charges could be levled against Bousquet.
What do you think about this story? Does it sound fishy, or is it a "he said, she said?"
