Beaches May Offer Relief For Hot, Hazy Weekend
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
New Englanders may want to flock to the beaches this weekend to get some relief from the heat wave that will make its way into the area.
WBZ's Barry Burbank says while temperatures will reach 90 degrees in some areas, conditions on the coast will be a bit cooler. On Saturday, temperatures are expected to be around 86 degrees, while Sunday will be even hotter and more humid at 93 degrees.
There will be sunshine for much of the weekend, though it may be hazy at times, Burbank said. Some low clouds coming off Cape Cod and the Islands could create some dense fog in the early-morning hours.
Thanks to a weather front in parts of eastern Massachusetts, there is a likely chance for some afternoon thunderstorms on Saturday and then possibly again on Sunday.
While some relief from the heat can be found at the beaches on Saturday, Burbank warns that the coasts will be much warmer on Sunday.
The weekend's coolest temperatures will be found on the south side of the Cape.
