Tropical Storm Danny Forms In Atlantic

May Clip East Coast

MIAMI (CBS) ― Tropical Storm Danny formed Wednesday morning, making it the fourth named tropical system for the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season. Danny is centered around 445 miles east of Nassau in the Bahamas.

The National Hurricane Center said Tropcial Storm Danny has maximum sustained winds of around 45 miles per hour with some higher gusts. Tropical Storm Danny is moving to the west-northwest at around 18 miles per hour. A gradual turn to the north-northwest expected on Friday.

The current forecast has the storm on a path to clip the U.S. East Coast over the weekend, but a storm's track can be difficult to predict days in advance. People in the Bahamas and the southeastern U.S. are advised to monitor the storm.
