On March 31, 1998, the temperature, in Boston, reached 89 degrees which was the climax of a 5-day spell of incredible warmth for so early in the season. The highs on March 27 through 31 were 79, 85, 75, 78 and 89 respectively. The 79, 85 and 89 were record highs for the dates.
