Wednesday's Child: 14-Year-Old Casey

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Casey is a bright and fun 14-year-old Caucasian boy with a big heart and lots of laughter to share with an adoptive family. He likes spending one-on-one time with caring adults who describe him as witty, quirky and considerate of other people's feelings.

Casey currently lives in a residential home where he makes good use of the supports available to him. He attends school at his program and benefits from special education services. In his free time, Casey enjoys participating in paint ball, using his Play Station, and watching movies. He likes working with his hands and has developed an interest in go-carts and sports cars.

Casey continues to work on expressing his feelings and accepting situations that do no go his way. He sometimes has a difficult time interacting with peers, but has made great strides in developing his social skills. The staff at his residential home say that he has made tremendous improvements in his behavior and that he shows the ability to positively express his feelings.

When thinking about a family, Casey hopes to find a family who will give him the time he needs to build a strong and trusting relationship. He is a youngster who has suffered many losses in his life and will do best with an understanding single dad or two-parent family, with or without other children. It is important to Casey that he continue to visit with his sister regularly. An ideal family will be open to working with outside professionals to ensure that Casey receives the supports he needs. Casey is legally free for adoption.
