Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old Mikey
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Mikey is a sweet, adorable youngster who is seeking the love and stability of a permanent family. He is typically a happy child who is affectionate with those who are close to him. With the right supports and nurturance, Mikey would thrive in a family of his own.
Mikey is a smart, inquisitive 10-year-old boy of Latino descent who benefits from a lot of adult one-on-one attention. Mikey is quite the conversationalist, and he likes asking questions. He loves playing with toy cars and he can tell you the make and model of cars on the road.
Mikey is currently in a foster home where he is helpful and cooperative around the house. He is not a big eater and prefers to stick with his tried and true foods; he especially likes breakfast foods.
In his free time, Mikey enjoys reading, going to the park, swimming and playing basketball. He loves spending time with his brothers, and it will be important for him to keep in touch with them.
In his specialized school, Mikey's favorite subject is spelling. Due to his past, he continues to use academic and therapeutic supports to confront his challenges. Over the years, he has worked hard on building stronger coping and social skills, and has come a long way.
Legally free for adoption, Mikey is ready to have a patient, loving and supportive family who will help him to continue making strides and reach his potential. He would do best as the only or youngest child in a two-parent home.
