Anthony d.o.b. 4/1998

BOSTON (WBZ) ― "A good friend" and "kind to others" is how Anthony describes himself when asked. Others see Anthony as a happy, affectionate, caring and friendly young boy. He is an engaging almost 10-year-old who has made terrific gains since being in his current placement. He has a lot of love to share and is ready to join a permanent family.

Although Anthony has cognitive delays, he has surpassed the expectations of his teachers. He can now write full sentences, using proper capital letters and punctuation. Anthony is in a small classroom with other children with cognitive delays. He is one of the higher functioning children and shows leadership qualities. Anthony loves learning and is proud of his accomplishments. He is a solid first grader who has not yet reached his potential. He is working on his relationships with peers who are more on target.

In his free time, Anthony enjoys playing and watching sports, especially baseball. He is a fast runner and loves hitting home runs. He is a Boston Red Sox fan, and his dream is to play for the team. Anthony also likes to read, do jigsaw puzzles, play Ugio and memory games, cook and shop for clothes.

Anthony lives at a residential home where he has received the necessary structure and has shown great improvements across the board. He gets along well with adults and loves to please. He is a good helper and does his chores around the home. Anthony has the ability to attach to his caretakers. In his previous foster home, he was able to follow rules and enjoyed being a part of a family. Through therapy, Anthony has addressed issues from his past and is better able to express and control his feelings. He should continue with this support after he is placed in a new home.

Anthony's social worker is seeking a single or two-parent family, with or without children, who will work with his residential home to better understand Anthony's needs. Anthony has four siblings whom he enjoys seeing, and maintaining contact with them will be important to him. Anthony is legally free for adoption.
