Wednesday's Child: 16-year-old Jeanene

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Jeanene is friendly, affectionate and loving teen girl who is often described as a sensitive. She has a great sense of humor and gets along easily with her peers. She also likes to please the adults in her life. Legally free for adoption, Jeanene gets attached easily and wants to have a family of her own.

Jeanene, 16, is of African American and Asian heritage and is generally in good health. She has cognitive delays but she continues to make progress. Jeanene attends high school where she is motivated to learn. She is a willing participant in therapy and has made significant progress in her behavior. Jeanene is able to accept limits set for her. In her free time, Jeanene enjoys singing, dancing, drawing and shopping. She also loves caring for her baby dolls.

Jeanene would do well in any number of families, preferably as the youngest child with no other children near her age. Jeanene would thrive in a loving and consistent family that would be committed to her long-term care.

To learn more about Jeanene, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
