Lakeisha d.o.b. 6/91

Lakeisha is a pretty 13-year-old African-American girl who is playful and sociable. She can easily make friends – as she relates well to people, including her foster mother to whom she has made a healthy attachment. Lakeisha is hoping to find an adoptive family who will give her unconditional love and understanding.

On weekends, Lakeisha enjoys going shopping with her foster mother. She takes pride in her appearance and is good at color-coordinating her clothes. Lakeisha attends church, which she has said is good exposure for her of life in her surrounding community. It also gives her an opportunity to sing, an activity she likes doing.

Lakeisha also enjoys listening to music, especially R & B, watching music videos and dancing. Like most girls her age, she likes talking with her friends on the telephone. Last summer, Lakeisha enjoyed attending summer camp. Most of all, though, Lakeisha loves to write. She has been given distinctions for the impressiveness of her work. Lakeisha gets to improve on her talent through writing in her journals and at her after-school program.

After high school, Lakeisha aspires to attend college. She is currently in the eighth grade and works at her grade level. In fact, Lakeisha is an A/B student, only needing assistance with her math. Her favorite subject is English, especially poetry. At home, she diligently and enthusiastically tends to her homework.

Lakeisha will do well as an only child or with siblings in either a single or two-parent home. She has an older biological sister, with whom she would ideally love to remain in contact. Lakeisha is legally free for adoption and would benefit from being placed in a stable, permanent home. Lakeisha is a wonderful girl with no limit to her potential, if she is nurtured, and her talents are fostered.
