Willie is a bright, charming 12-year-old African American boy who takes pride in his appearance. He is shy at first, but his fun-loving side shines through once he gets to know you. Willie likes company, especially spending one on one time with an adult. He is hoping to find a family that enjoys family activities.
Willie is currently in a residential program and likes being in a suburban setting. He is a favorite among the staff and is always willing to help out with extra chores. In his free time, he likes going to the movies, bowling, sledding and hiking. He has done very well in a dirt bike riding program that teaches responsibility gives youngsters experience at rising to a challenge. Willie's dream is to play on a football team once he gets into high school.
Currently, Willie is in the fifth grade. He has an Individual Educational Plan to assist him with academics. He enjoys school, especially math and science. He is a visual learner who does best with hands-on projects. Willie loves to draw and has sketched out creative designs of sneakers.
When he gets older, Willie aspires to become a school director in hopes of helping children like himself. He has also talked about being a doctor or shoe designer. Willie is currently attending counseling which has aided him to move in a positive direction. He is insightful about his own behavior and can express himself.
Now legally free for adoption, Willie is looking for a non-smoking family and would love to have a pet dog. The ideal family for Willie would be a mom and dad with older children if there were children. He would also do well in a single parent household with a strong male role model. Willie thrives on structure and consistency, and wants to feel that he is safe and he belongs.
