Wednesday's Child: 11-Year-Old Alonzo

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Alonzo is a charming 11-year-old boy of African American descent who describes himself as funny and creative. He shares positive relationships with the adults in his life. Alonzo revels in one-on-one attention and would thrive with the love and stability of an adoptive home.

Alonzo currently lives in a foster home where he responds well to structure. He is doing well academically and attends a regular sixth grade classroom. Alonzo is smart, and when he puts his mind to something, he excels. In his free time, Alonzo likes to watch television, draw, play chess and spend time outdoors. When he grows up, Alonzo says he would like to be a photographer, a designer or a chef.

Legally free for adoption, Alonzo is seeking a permanent home that will honor his connection to his siblings. Either a single or two-parent family would be appropriate for Alonzo. Alonzo is a caring, lovable youngster who has a lot to offer to a new family.

To learn more about Alonzo, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
