Carla and Carlos at Create-a-Cook in Newton.
WBZ
Carlos and Carla are bright and energetic siblings of Hispanic descent who share a strong bond and a wonderful sense of humor.
They are both eager and ready to find a permanent loving family where they can grow up together.
Bring on the sports for older brother Carlos.
At 9-years-old, he already excels in athletics, including soccer, baseball, basketball and football.
Carlos loves outdoor activities and has recently learned how to swim and ride a bike.
He also enjoys drawing, playing with action figures, board games, and educational computer games.
Carlos proclaims that he would like to be a professional athlete some day if he does not become a doctor, teacher, truck driver or a superhero.
Currently in the third grade, Carlos benefits from an Individualized Educational Plan.
He works hard at maintaining his academic responsibilities and has many friends.
Little sister Carla is a friendly and funny 8-year-old who gets along with everybody and has a lot of love to give.
One of her favorite activities is playing with her beloved baby dolls.
Carla talks about becoming a teacher and a mommy when she grows up.
She also loves listening to music, singing, watching movies, exploring the computer, reading and riding her bicycle.
She is very artistic and enjoys making up stories while she draws and creates.
Carla is currently in the second grade, loves school and is doing very well.
Her talent for telling jokes and her love of singing win the hearts of those around her, and she enjoys the company of many friends.
Carlos and Carla are currently living together in the same foster home where they have done well with the attention and consistency they receive, and have developed positive attachments.
Legally free for adoption, Carlos and Carla will thrive in a two-parent family who will provide them with the individual attention, patience and understanding they need.
Their social worker prefers a home with no other children or with older teenagers.
It is important to these siblings that they be able to maintain contact with both their current foster home as well as visits with their birth mother several times a year.
The permanency of a loving family is what this ambitious and active sibling pair needs to continue to make social, emotional and academic gains.
To learn more about Carlos and Carla, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit
www.mareinc.org.
The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
