Wednesday's Children: Christopher and Alex

BOSTON (WBZ) ― With endless energy and big, bright smiles, Christopher and Alex are determined to find a permanent home where they can stay together.

These gregarious brothers of Hispanic descent share a wide variety of interests and an obvious caring attitude towards one another.

Christopher, 11, is an inquisitive young man who has passion for playing almost every sport, especially basketball.

He has an interest in all kinds of music, animals and cars.

He would love to have a dog in a new family.

Christopher says he likes to listen to music because "it gets my mind going."

He enjoys playing video games and eating pizza.

He will be entering the fifth grade in September and benefits from the services provided through his Individualized Educational Plan.

Science and social studies are his favorite subjects, and his favorite books include the Goosebumps series.

Alex, 9, says his favorite thing in the whole world is playing outside.

You can find him participating in whatever sport is being played at the time, with his favorites being kickball and basketball.

Alex is a bundle of energy who likes to listen to music, watch television, solve puzzles and read.

His favorite books are the Magic Tree House books about historical adventures.

Alex will be entering the third grade in September and is performing at grade level.

His favorite subject is art and painting where he most likely uses his favorite color red in his works.

Alex likes to eat chicken, beans and rice because he says those are foods that are good for him.

Legally free for adoption, Christopher and Alex would do well in a two-parent family of any constellation, with or without older children.

An active family who enjoys outdoor activities would be ideal.

It is also important for a family to be comfortable with helping Christopher and Alex maintain contact with birth family.

These two fun-loving and positive boys have much to bring to a permanent, loving family.

To learn more about Christopher and Alex, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org.

The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
