Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old Christopher
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Chris is a sweet, likeable 10-year-old Caucasian boy. He's shy at first but he warms up once he gets to know you. Chris currently lives in a foster home where he has a positive relationship with his foster family, and responds especially well to male caregivers.
Chris is a true athlete and enjoys all sorts of sports, including soccer, baseball, and fishing. He is a particularly talented golfer and has more than enough energy to spend all day out on the course.
Math and reading are among Chris' favorite subjects in school. He is animal lover and enjoys learning about them. Chris is younger than his age developmentally and benefits from academic and therapeutic supports. He has some speech and language delays, which have improved over the years. Though Christopher can test limits at times, he understands consequences and can be redirected.
Legally free for adoption, Chris would do best as the only or youngest child in a single or two-parent family. It is important to Chris that he maintain contact with his siblings. Chris would thrive with lots of individual attention, positive reinforcement, and structure in a permanent, loving family.
To learn more about Chris, and about adoption from foster care, call the
Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit
www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
