Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old Daniel

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Daniel, 10, is a sweet Caucasian boy who describes himself as "kind" and a "good friend." Daniel has a good sense of humor for making and receiving jokes. He has a wide range of interests and is hoping to share some of them with an adoptive family.

Daniel currently lives in a foster home where he is able to attend church services and would like to continue in the future. He has been making great progress in his foster home where he receives patient assistance with daily living skills to enforce what he has learned at school. He also interacts well with his foster parents' grown children.

Currently in the fifth grade, Daniel is benefitting from an Individualized Education Plan to address his learning disabilities and some behavioral challenges. Daniel gets along well with other children but really thrives in one-on-one interactions with adults.

In his free time, Daniel likes playing outdoors, riding his bicycle, using the computer, playing video games and drawing. He lists macaroni and cheese and chocolate ice-cream as his favorite foods.

Legally free for adoption, Daniel would like to find a family that allows him to maintain contact with his birth mother and his current foster parents. Ideally, he would enjoy having older brothers and sisters, as well as a pet cat in his new home.

To learn more about Daniel, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
