Wednesday's Children: Paige, Jacob & Dylan

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Paige, Jacob and Dylan are engaging, sociable and likeable children who could bring a lot to a family. They are legally free for adoption and would love to be placed together in an adoptive home. They are seeking an active family that likes having fun but also has rules when needed.

Paige is an outgoing, spirited African American 12-year-old who has a good sense of humor. She is a sensitive, caring girl who is able to have long-lasting friendships with her peers. She currently lives in the same foster home with Jacob, and likes to tease her family members in a playful way.

In her spare time, Paige likes watching movies, playing with dolls and making beaded jewelry and other arts and crafts, as well as talking to her friends on the telephone. When necessary, Paige is able to stand up for herself appropriately. Paige is currently in the fifth grade and is working at grade level. She has an Individualized Educational Plan to receive extra help in reading and math. Paige has talked about going to college and becoming a singer when she gets older.

Jacob is a talkative, engaging Caucasian and African American boy who is eager to please and get positive attention for his efforts. Jacob, 8, can act younger than his age. He is in the first grade, and he may need speech and language services. Overall, Jacob is doing well in his foster home. He likes movies and computer games, as well as playing outside with his friends, playing basketball and riding his bicycle, which he is good at.

Dylan is a cute, engaging 3-year-old of Caucasian and African American descent who likes playing with other children. He enjoys watching movies, playing with games, including Leap Pad, and going to the zoo and the beach. He attends a preschool program through the public school system for several hours a day and also goes to daycare. Dylan has an Individualized Educational Plan for speech and language delays. He is doing well in his foster family and gets along well with the other children who are close in age to him.

At times, Dylan will test limits. In light of the hardship he has experienced, Dylan has been resilient. He has a treatable medical condition that will require ongoing medical appointments which are now every other month.

These siblings would like to have a mother and father and the chance to all be reunited and grow up together. They would do fine with other children, either younger or older. All three children are in therapy to help them deal with past and current issues and will need continued support around their losses. There is an open adoption agreement that allows them to have two visits a year with their birth parents.

To learn more about Paige, Jacob and Dylan, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
