Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old William

BOSTON (WBZ) ― William is a smart, curious and talkative youngster of African-American and Caucasian descent. He has a good sense of humor and loves telling "knock knock" jokes.

When he grows up, William says he wants to be police officer, firefighter, teacher or airplane builder. For now, William is ready to be placed in an adoptive family that provides him with the guidance he needs to reach his goals.

William, soon to be 10, currently lives with a foster family where he helps out around the house and enjoys spending time with family members. He does will with structure and clear expectations. William is in the fourth grade, but is academically and socially behind his peers. He is doing well in a classroom that specializes in social, emotional and behavioral issues. Math is his strongest subject. In his spare time, William enjoys drawing, playing with toy cars and building with LEGOS.

Legally free for adoption, William is ready to have the nurturance, supervision and stability of a single or two-parent home in which he can be the only or youngest child. It is important to William that he is placed in a family who will enable him to maintain contact with his siblings.

To learn more about William, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
