Morris is a charming African American boy with sparkling brown eyes, a warm smile and a good sense of humor. He is fun to spend time with and is always up for a trip to the park or going out to eat.
Morris' social worker is seeking an adoptive family for Morris that will give him the love and stability he needs.
An imaginative 6- year-old, Morris plays well on his own. He loves his trucks and Hot Wheels. He also enjoys drawing, listening to music, especially the drums, and watching his favorite cartoon Sponge Bob Squarepants. Morris currently lives in a foster home where he is generally well-mannered and helpful with household chores. He attends church regularly with his foster family.
Morris just started elementary school where he is in a small, structured classroom. He receives special educational services for academic and behavioral support. Morris tends to feel more comfortable around much older children and adults, and is working on his social skills with his peers.
Morris has experienced great loss in his young life. Therapy addresses the issues that have arisen. As is the case of many children with a history of multiple moves, Morris works hard to have things go his way and can be impulsive at times. Morris responds well to flexible and patient discipline, with a parent taking the time to talk to him.
Legally free for adoption, Morris is ready to have a family to call his own. He would do best in a two-parent home with no children or with teenage children, but a single mom with a strong support system would also be considered.
To learn more about Morris, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit
www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
