Former NH Nurse Sentenced In Oxycontin Case

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) ― A former nurse from Hampton has been sentenced to three years probation for her guilty plea to federal charges of fraudulently obtaining Oxycontin.

U.S. Attorney John Kacavas says 39-year-old Dawn Kobylarz will serve six months of the sentence on home confinement and must pay more than $6,600 in restitution to the government.

Kobylarz was accused of forging orders for the drugs while employed in 2006 at Haven Health of the Seacoast, a nursing home facility in Hampton. Federal prosecutors say Medicare and the Department of Veterans Affairs were billed for the cost of the drugs.

Kobylarz was accused of taking the drugs home for personal use. She pleaded guilty in July.
