PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) ―
Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders is holding a free workshop on New Hampshire's gay marriage law that takes effect Jan. 1.
GLAD attorney Janson Wu will discuss what the new law means, how it works and answer questions for couples who are in civil unions or wonder if there is a waiting period. He also will discuss circumstances when gay couples should not get married, which states recognize the unions and restrictions under the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
The workshop is Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at South Church Parish Hall, 292 State St. in Portsmouth.
